NEW! Binding Resolutions

Alec has a diverse legal tool-chest to craft creative and flexible solutions regarding difficult matters; furthermore, Alec will work towards resolving your matter in the most expeditious, cost-effective, and favorable manner possible.

During Law school Alec worked as a clerk in Provincial Court- Civil for a summer; the experience gave him a unique appreciation of, and perspective on, the inner workings of the judicial system. During his article, Alec was exposed to various areas of the law including: estate law; civil litigation; criminal law; tax/corporate law; and family law (litigation and alternative dispute resolution). Alec is truly passionate about family law. Half of Alec’s article was spent at two of Calgary’s premier family litigation firms: Boyes Tiefenbach & Associates; and Allen Hyrniuk LLP. In addition, Alec worked under Elaine Seifert, Q.C. and Laurie McMurchie, Q.C., both of whom are experienced family law mediators/arbitrators. Alec has had considerable exposure to both Court and the alternative dispute resolution process.  Alec was called to the Alberta bar in September 2019.

Alec has a strong commitment to community outreach. Alec received an award from Pro Bono Law Alberta for the most volunteer shifts undertaken for both the Civil Claims Duty Counsel Program, and the Court of Queen’s Bench Court Assistance/Amicus Curiae Program in the 2018/2019 year. Alec is also an active member of the Canadian Bar Association’s Family Law Section.

In his spare time, you can find Alec: cycling; reading; exploring Calgary’s restaurants; or cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.
